Summer 2012 at the After School Club
Every Monday is Munchin' Monday! We provide a yummy, theme related lunch every Monday. The menu will be posted in the office so you can decide if you would like to partake of this culinary delight!
How many tissues can you pull out of a box in a minute? Can you knock over empty cans with a yoyo? Can you catch 3 balls in a bucket on the top of your head? Can you flip an Oreo cookie from your forehead to your mouth?

June 25 - 29, 2012 This week will be a get acquainted week. There will be no field trips during this week. Daily trips to the pool, greeting old friends and meeting new ones will be the focus of this week.
Did you know that Mancala is an ancient African game? Learn how to play the world's oldest game, create a tribal mask and groove to African music. Join us for an adventure to the world's second largest continent.

Jeff Boyer shows kids that energy is what makes our world work, through carefully laid out activities illustrating the laws and forces which govern the world around us. Jeff takes the kids on an exciting energy filled ride they'll always remember.

Tuesday, July 24, 2012 - Circus Smirkus - Every summer, a company of talented Smirkus Troupers, ages 10 to 18, go on a two-month tour around New England. Smirkus Circus has not yet finalized their tour schedule. We are very hopeful that we will be attending their show on this day. If not, a circus act will be performing for us at the ASC.
Thursday, July 26, 2012 - Davey the Clown's show contains silly juggling, amazing magic, incredible unicycling, wacky antics, beautiful and rousing accordion music, balloon sculptures, tons of audience participation, and a rubber chicken!

Tuesday, July 31, 2012 - You won't be piling up the Z's when Dancin' in the City gets down with a Nifty Fifties Dance. Wear your cool threads cuz' the joint will be jumpin' with a bee boppin' sock hop ! So get with it and don your poodle skirts, saddle shoes and slicked back hair.
Thursday, August 2, 2012 - Chunky's Cinema Restaurant We'll be cruisin' in the comfort of leather Lincoln Town Car chairs at Chunky's Cinema Restaurant while eyeballing the flick "Ice Age - Continental Drift" . Don't be square! Be there!
August 6 - 10, 2012 - No time for field trips this week. We will be too busy enjoying some of the kid's all-time favorites. Get psychedelic with the annual tie dyeing day. The colorful "sunburst" patterns kids can create are always in style. Who will win our 8th annual Kickball Game at Weafer Park? And of course, any game that involves water is a must, the wetter, the better!
Chickens and donkeys and cows! Oh my! The kids will have the opportunity to learn about life on a farm and the critters that live there. Hope you like butter and ice cream because we will be making our own. Come join the 'herd' for a 'barn-raising' good time!
Tuesday, August 14, 2012 - Dig into nature at Drumlin Farm! Enjoy a change of pace, where we will explore a real working farm and a wildlife sanctuary all in one day. We will visit the animals in the farmyard, try on our green thumbs in the learning garden, and take a ride on the hay wagon.
Thursday, August 16, 2012 - Charmingfare Farm is home to many of the traditional agricultural animals you would expect to see on a farm. Children will enjoy the Oakhurst Dairy Discovery Barn, home to a large "hands-on" petting area. Tractor train rides and horse-drawn rides are also a part of the experience. If you have taken a horse drawn ride at the annual Woburn Lighting ceremony, you have already met the horses!
Ahoy mates! Land lubbers and seasoned sailors prepare to hop aboard the ASC fun ship for a boatload of nautical smiles. How many pennies will your boat hold? Can you make a boat float above the water? These are just some of the marvelous maritime missions awaiting you.
